This consultation draft document, "Shaping our Future" is a set of key priorities for the village. This is an important draft document that seeks to steer development and proposals for the benefits of residents, businesses and visitors of the Parish of Landkey. It is hoped that, in time, the consistent delivery of schemes which fulfil the priorities will make a lasting improvement to the quality of life and the environment within the Parish.
The priorities do not come with funding. However, the Parish Council will actively seek to persuade those bodies, organisations and developers which are responsible for the delivery of schemes and infrastructure to focus funding and delivery within the Parish of Landkey in accordance with the priorities.
The document has been drafted by the Parish Council and it welcomes the views of local residents, organisations and businesses on the details and how the Shaping Our Future document should be amended.
Please read through the document before taking part in the survey. It should take about 10 minutes to read and is available here:
Landkey - Shaping Our Future document
The Shaping Our Future document identifies identifies six overarching priorities and puts forward strategies to achieve these. Local residents as well as relevant businesses, organisations and public representatives are invited to take part by means of the online Landkey Survey which opened in June 2022 and is expected to close in the autumn.
The Parish Council will carefully consider all the representations. Once the document has been updated following this consultation, the Parish Council will adopt the document and start using it hopefully later in 2022.
What is the survey? The online survey is based on the Landkey - Shaping our Future document document and the 25 priorities drawn from the 6 key headings. These are set out in this table:
6 Sections, 25 Priorities | |
---|---|
Sections | Description |
Accessibility | 5 priorities on pedestrian, cycle and bus routes |
Landscape | 6 priorities on Landkey's landscape |
Parking | 4 priorities on car parking and traffic |
Environment | 5 priorities on conserving Landkey's environment |
Facilities | 3 priorities on improving Landkey's facilities |
Housing | 2 priorities on matching new housing to local need |
How does it work? Each question asks the participant to rank an aspect of a key priority for its importance, from 1, "Very Important", to 5, "Not important" simply by clicking on a "radio button". We welcome views, opinions and suggestions and a comments box will be open throughout the survey for these to be noted. This is optional, of course.
Who is running it? The survey is being run and funded by Landkey Parish Council, of which Richard Halliday is the chairman.
How long will it take? The survey should take around 10 minutes to complete, perhaps a little more if comments are made.
Who can take the survey? It is relevant for local residents as well as businesses, organisations and public representatives who have a connection to Landkey.
Thank you in advance. We very much appreciate your participation as it will help us to make informed decisions on matters that affect our village.
