From Emma Marshall on 21st January 2016:

Subject: Easter Egg Hunt.

Just to let you know that the Parish Council will be holding an Easter Egg Hunt on 19th March. From 10.30 -1pm. It will be held on the Millenium Green.
All welcome!
We will be having an Easter Bomnet competition which local businessess in Landkey can sponsor if they so wish. The competition will be open to all children of Landkey and will be judged by Julie Whitton.
We have also invited all of the voluntary groups and organisations of Landkey to have a stall to explain and show what they actually do, should anyone like to get involved.
The Parish Council will be there too with a stall to try and get some interest in a group that we hope to form. We think Landkey needs a good old tidy up....but we need help to do this.
So please do come along, enjoy a cuppa and a slice of cake.
And kids go crazy with your easter bonnet designs!!!!!
If any businessess would like to get involved please get in touch with Emma Marshall. 07400522051

From Charles Waldron on 28th December 2015:

Subject: Mazzard Planting

A new mazzard sapling has been planted at the top of the Millennium Green in a space that was unoccupied by other trees in the mazzard orchard which was established in 1999. The sapling was sourced by Michael Gee from Eastacott at Goodleigh, and is a variety not represented in the collection on the Green. If you are walking on the Green, feel free to have a look, but please take care not to damage it as it is still very small! A picture taken while the sapling was being planted may be seen in the Events Gallery.

From Charles Waldron on 18th December 2015:

Subject: Thank you from St Paul's

Thank you to all who have supported the recent St Paul's Church Christmas events and services. The Fayre on 5th December was attended by many village residents as well as regular churchgoers and the contribution of all was appreciated. Almost £900 was raised for much-needed church funds. The Christmas Tree Festival also attracted much interest with 11 local organisations donating and decorating a tree. Carols by Candlelight is a popular service and was well attended again this year.

From Charles Waldron on 28th November 2015:

Subject: Christmas (and other) Events

With Christmas approaching, don't forget that, if you are planning an event to be held in the village, you can advertise it free of charge on this website! Simply go to the "Add Event" page and submit the details of your event. It will then appear on the Events Calendar for others to view.

From Charles Waldron on 21st October 2015:

Subject: Points of View, etc.

Landkey Parish Council encourages village residents to make use of the Points of View facility on this website. If there is an issue that concerns village life that you feel needs to be addressed, place it on the "Your Point of View" page and it will be sent to a parish councillor who will reply, if you ask for a response.

It has recently come to light that an intermittent fault might have prevented some Points of View from being submitted. This fault has now been rectified so, if you had tried to send in your Point of View, please accept Charles Waldron's (the web designer's) apology and feel free to use this facility again!

The Parish Council also welcomes the addition of village events to the "Events Calendar". The calendar is shared with St Paul's Church (as church events are also village events) and it would be good to have more events listed from the village in general. If you have an event that you would like to place, feel free to enter it on the "Add Event" page. If you submit events regularly, you might prefer to obtain a login facility as this will enable you to subsequently edit your event/s if required or to add from a stored template to save time. To obtain a login facility, contact Charles at cerwaldron@gmail.com.
